This year I haven’t made many resolutions (although brushing my hair daily IS one of them), but I’ve been impressed for some time by all the research into how registering things to be grateful for improves our state of mind.

And indeed what’s not to like about remembering all the good things in a day. However small, however big.

I’m taking my lead from my friend Clare’s wonderful Three Beautiful Things, but instead of blogging about my three particular things each day, I’ll be writing them in my beautiful mini diary (which indeed could be a reason for gratitude on its own!).

So a happy new year to you all. I’m grateful for you for reading this website, and look forward to continuing friendship/writerly company/inspiration with you all in 2013, although…
