I went along to the Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells today to see the Big Draw exhibition by photographer Ellen Montelius and artist Elizabeth Clayman. It was a surreal experience to see Ellen’s interpretation of my short story, The Potassium Man.

Surreal, and wonderful.

I don’t know if Ellen even knows the story about how this story came about. I was on an artists fellowship at VCCA and looking through my studio windows at the red cardinals flying around outside.

In my jet lagged bleary state they looked just like goldfish, and the fishbowl in Ellen’s exhibition took me straight back to how I felt writing the story!
