The wonderful Reauthoring Project has got me thinking about writing and audiences in so many different ways already this year, that I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised when part of the brief of being part of the Lounge Stories team at the festival, Lounge on the Farm last weekend was to use a new medium – or an old medium in a new way – to tell our stories.
So I picked Pinterest with photographs of the people I met, and a small haiku type caption of their experience at the festival so far.

I’m also planning to use the boards to create narrative stories out of all the random photographs I took during the day. Not sure what they’ll be exactly yet, but I LOVE the idea of writing novels on pinterest boards. Here’s Alison in a pose…
But as always, it’s inspiring to see what other people had done, and just what is out there. Here are some links to the Lounge Stories Team:
Neil Baker used instagram for his wonderful stories. Oh, and the shed walls…
Sonia Overall went to Tumblr, Greg Klerkx slipped into character with his evocative Viddy’s, and Will Sutton converted us all to Cinemagr…
..and the joys of the ukulele…
Perhaps best of all though, Betty Herbert set up a live confession booth…
As always, we ended up a the mixture of old style story telling and social media, sprinkled with a good dusting of synchronicity. Nick at the coffee booth was keen to play along, and we ended up with a production line of short stories and questions written on the cup sleeves. Here are some waiting to decorate only the best cappuccinos, expressos and lattes..
And of course, once you start looking there are stories written everywhere. Even on faces…
… but however you read the story, it’s always better to live it live…
I’d love to hear of any unusual places and ways you’ve found stories hiding. Please do share.

How inspiring! I love these ideas – it gets my creative side all thoughtful. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Annie. And do share back what you come up with!
