Soft Talk – a 50 word photostory

They’ve been debating what softness means. He says it’s the inside of a baby’s ear. She says it’s the way you’re sure clouds will bear your weight. Good jazz, he says. Bluegrass, she counters. This conversation, he says. Or the one we’ll have tomorrow, she argues. They both sigh. Softly.

    She said we should name our second child after a herb. I was worried that would create the wrong impression – herbs could be invasive, overpowering and tended to be favoured by esoteric types. She said that sounded perfect, especially when most others names in the book were so deciduous.
