A live lit night without boundaries!

Celebrating all things musical: stories swayed by song lyrics, tales inspired by favourite melodies, and maybe even the odd musical instrument or two. Deadline for submissions: 23rdMarch.

This night will be particularly special as we will be celebrating the first Story Studio anthology, ‘Snapshots’. This book, featuring the work of some of our favourite Story Studio performer/writers grew from our hugely successful live lit stage at the music festival ‘At the Edge of the Sea’ at Brighton’s Concorde II last August. The festival’s headlining band, The Wedding Present, were so impressed by the performances by Louise Halvardsson, Mark Sheerin, Felstead and Waddell, and Erika Szostak (as well as Tara and Louise on hosting duty) they asked us to gather a collection of stories inspired by their song titles together. The resulting volume sees these stories and more, all illustrated in graphic novel style by comic book artist, Lee Thacker. The anthology is about to hit the press right now, so we are hoping there will be copies for sale.

Viva Voce is a monthly flash fiction competition edited by Tara Gould at Viva Lewes. Next month’s theme is Chocolate and the word count is 425. The winner (and their details, website etc) will be published in the wonderful Viva Lewes magazine which goes out to many thousands of readers. The deadline is 14th March and entries should be emailed to taragouldy@gmail.com
