Remember my posts about the Story Dolls I was working on for the Museum Exhibition?
Well, we are nearly there, and I am SO PROUD to have this up on my site today. Please come!
See the re:collections exhibition from Friday 14th January 2010 until Saturday 26th Febuary 2010, at the TUNBRIDGE WELLS MUSEUM & ART GALLERY
Eight acclaimed artists and writers give their unique interpretations on rarely-seen objects from the Museum collection.
This exhibition shares a unique collaboration between four artists and four writers. Over the past year, the group have worked with the Museum’s collections to create new pieces of writing and artwork. Each collaborator has then responded to the work of another, using their own creative talents to develop a piece of work. This unusual approach is a first for contemporary art practice in this area.
The group includes award-winning writers, poets and artists, all with a wealth of experience. The work in the show has been created by children’s writer Mara Bergman, artist and print maker Niki Campbell, artist Elizabeth Clayman, printer maker Lindsay Connors, photographer and mixed media artist Ellen Montelius, novelist Sarah Salway, writer and poet Catherine Smith and poet and novelist Susan Wicks.
Visitors to this show will be treated to an extraordinary insight into the Museum’s collections through newly created, contemporary artworks, poetry and prose. The exhibition promises to lead the visitor on a journey of discovery, with a chance to interact with and be inspired by the work on show.
